The CKA Focus:
The Coopersburg Karate Academy is focused on teaching traditional martial arts to children, and encourages parents to join as well. We also want to teach adults who have tight schedules to learn with and have fun with their children. We have a serious outlook on traditional karate but also have a good time doing it. Much like the movie, The Karate Kid, Coopersburg Karate Academy works hard to be like Mr. Miyagi in our approach and not the hard Cobra Kai School that depicted the cruel and harsher side of karate teaching.
Dues:
Dues are paid the first class of each month. They are required even though a student has been absent. A $5.00 late fee will be added for payments received after the 15th of the month.
Dues are $50.00 per month for one student per family, $90.00 for two students per family, and $100 for three+ students per family.
Please remember this is a private Karate teaching facility. It is required that dues be paid on time. Students may be suspended if fees are not paid within a reasonable time. If finances are a problem, please discuss your situation with Sensei and something will be worked out.
Because class meets only on Saturdays throughout most of the year and twice a week in the summer, the student must accept the responsibility of working out at home. The more a student practices, the greater the likely hood of promotions. Students are responsible to adhere to Coopersburg Karate Academy's Dojo and Sparring Rules.
Belt Ranking:
Our belt ranking system is as follows: white, yellow, orange, blue, green, brown and black. Fees for patches and certifications are additional charges (when applicable). Colored stripes between belts are part of the promotional system. They are indicative of the student's commitment and work effort. All promotional considerations are at Sensei's discretion.
The Shorin-Ryu pin is given to a student who have shown an outstanding attitude and has sacrificed something for the dojo and for others.
